Event registration terms

Scope

These terms cover events you register for on the MeetUp Business Club events pages, whether they are held in the Istanbul lounge or elsewhere, and whether we run them or a member company does.

Registration and confirmation

Registration completes when your contact is verified by email or WhatsApp. Places are limited and a seat is held only on final confirmation; the waiting list moves in order. For some events admission is reviewed by the team, and a decline is never personal.

Tickets and payment

An event may be free, discounted by your membership tier, or paid. The amount and currency are shown on the same page before you pay. Payment runs through the gateway and the full terms are on the payment terms page.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you cannot come, tell us as early as you can so the seat goes to the next person. There is no cancel button on the event page today; the team closes the registration. If we cancel or move an event, we tell you on the channel you registered with.

The money rule is written on the payment terms page: a dated event ticket carries no fourteen-day right of withdrawal, but if you cancel within the window stated there you get the price back. And if the cancellation is ours, the money returns to the payment instrument you used, unless you would rather take credit for another event.

Sharing with the organiser

If another company runs the event, your name, company and contact details reach them only with your explicit consent. Without it, the organiser sees only the number of attendees. If the organiser is outside Türkiye this is also a cross-border transfer, and the consent text says so.

Conduct at the event

An event is a professional space: direct high-pressure selling, unapproved promotion, and harvesting the attendee list for marketing are not accepted. Exchanging cards and following up is normal; adding someone to a mailing list without their permission is not.

Photography and video

Photographs and video may be taken. Your image is published only with your consent and you can ask for it to be taken down at any time. The exact wording is on the explicit-consent page.

Your guest

Some membership tiers allow you to bring a guest. Introduce the guest from the event page so an entry pass is issued. A guest's phone number is kept only for reception on the day and is never shown to other members.

What we collect at registration

Name, company, role, city, working languages and the need you state, plus one contact detail for verification. The raw contact detail is erased once it is linked to your record or when it expires. The full table is on the retention schedule page.

Attendance is recorded by QR code only, and no biometric data is taken — no face image, no fingerprint, no voice print. Your attendance is tied to that event and is not used for any other purpose.
