What explicit consent is, and where it is needed

Explicit consent is your informed, freely given decision about one specific purpose. We use no pre-ticked boxes, and no consent is a condition of membership.

Some processing needs no consent at all, because it is required to perform the membership contract or by law: signing in, invoicing, QR attendance records and the audit trail. These do not stop if you decline consent, and the legal basis for each is set out in the KVKK information notice.

Processing your professional profile

Your name, role, company, industry, target markets, working languages and the needs you state are used for matchmaking and introductions. Membership does not work without them; but filling in any given field is optional and you may leave any field empty.

AI processing of your CV, voice message and transcript

If you give this consent, your CV file, LinkedIn profile PDF and voice message go to an AI service outside Türkiye to produce profile suggestions. Suggestions stay drafts until you confirm them, and none of them land on your profile automatically. The full account is on the AI processing page.

Public professional web lookup

This is a separate consent for the system to search only public professional information — a company website, trade news, an exhibitor list — and propose it for your profile. Social networks are not read and no LinkedIn page is fetched.

Event photography and video

Photographs and video may be taken at events. Without your consent your image is not published in reports, on social networks or on the lounge wall. If you change your mind later, tell us and the image is taken down.

Sharing with an event organiser

When you register for an event run by another company, your name, company and contact details reach that organiser only if you consent. Without consent the organiser sees only the number of attendees. If the organiser is outside Türkiye, this is also a cross-border transfer.

Sharing with a service partner

For legal, financial or market advice your need is passed to a service partner. Without your consent no contact detail is transferred and the partner sees only the need, without your identity.

Transfer outside Türkiye

Some of our providers are outside Türkiye. The separate text and the full list of recipients are on the cross-border transfer page; consent for this purpose is taken separately from the others.

Which version you accepted

Every consent is recorded with the version number of this text and the time. If the text changes, your old consent is not stretched to cover the new version: either we ask again, or the version you accepted stays in force.

Withdrawing consent

Withdraw any consent from your account settings or with a message to ⁨privacy@meetupbusinessclub.com⁩. Withdrawal takes effect from the moment you tell us and does not make earlier processing unlawful.

After withdrawal, open work for that purpose is cancelled and the related files and pending suggestions are deleted. What you wrote or confirmed yourself is not deleted automatically; you can ask for that separately.
